B. Satchel Paige was 42 years old when he made his debut with the Cleveland Indians in 1948. Though denied an opportunity to play in the major leagues as a young man because of the color barrier, Paige first played with Cleveland, then the St. Louis Browns, and finally the Kansas City Athletics across three decades. He was elected to Hall of Fame in 1971.

Satchel Paige 42 歲才登上MLB, 生涯只打了六季,還能入選名人堂,原來是因為 Inducted into the Hall of Fame by Negro League Committee as Player in 1971.
